Paintball Tactics for Beginners

One thing that makes paintball so much fun is the strategy involved. Paintball is an active sport, yes. But it's also one that requires some serious thought. There are a variety of different paintball tactics and strategies that can be used to outwit and eliminate the competition. In this article, you'll learn some ways to gain an advantage on the paintball field.

The first thing you should do, strategy-wise, is scope out the paintball field. If you can discuss the good and bad parts of the playing field with the other members of your team, be sure to do so. If not, just try to get a mental picture of the best and worst parts of the terrain. Another thing you'll want to do before starting gameplay is make sure your ball loader and carrier is full of paintballs. This will ensure that you don't run out of paintballs while in the middle of a game, which would be disasterous.

After you've done your best to prepare for the game, it's time for action. The best strategies are those where the team works together yet each member is utilized in the most efficient way. At the start of the game, each member should have an objective to fulfill. One might be designated as the one to run for the flag while another serves as cover. Other members will want to head for the bunkers and try to eliminate opponents. Working together is the best thing a team can do in the sport of paintball. If one member of the team is out of synch, it could cause problems for everyone and lead to defeat.

You don't want to stay in one place too long. Movement is crucial to the sport of paintball, but it's important to do it right. You don't want to run long distances because if you do, you have a higher risk of being hit. Move across shorter distances, taking cover frequently. If you've got a teammate with you, one of you can serve as cover for the other. The more experienced you become with the sport of paintball, the more paintball tactics you will learn.
